Title: Elevator Troubles

Riddle: A man lives on the 10th floor of an apartment building. Every morning he gets up at 8:00 AM takes the elevator down to the 1st floor and goes out to work. Every evening he gets back at 5:30 PM takes the elevator up to the 7th floor and walks the remaining 3 floors up to his home. Why does he do this?
