Riddle: Three guys go on a trip. They stop at a hotel. The clerk tells them it is $30.00 for a room so they each pay $10.00. Later that day the hotel manager says wait its only $25.00 for a room so he sends the clerk up to the guys" room to give them $5.00 back. One the way to the room the clerk realizes he doesn"t know how to split $5.00 among 3 people so he puts two dollars in his pocket. When he gets to the room he gives each man $1.00. Well... 3x9=27+2=29 where did the other dollar go? PLEASE TELL ME YOU CAN SOLVE THIS!! GOOD LUCK!!!

This riddle is misleading. It puts in the part 3x9 = 27+2 = 29 but that has nothing to do with it. Each man gave 9 dollars INCLUDING the two dollars that the man kept. There is no missing dollar because it's 3x9 dollars paid and 3 dollars given back to the men.	BaddieMcNoSkill	5/11/2012
Okay...the riddle does make sense but I still don't know the answer. If the man gives each person back a dollar, then each man has only paid nine dollars. Three times nine is twenty-seven, so the men ended up paying twenty-seven dollars total. Plus the two dollars the clerk kept, that's only twenty-nine.		10/4/2011

It says 3x9=27+2=29. But isn't it supposed to be 3x10, not 3x9? The three guys each paid $10, not $9. So there is no missing dollar!		6/23/2011
There is no other dollar, two in the pocket and each man gets a dollar. That equals $5.00, and if you take $5.00 away from $30.00 it equals $25.00. Pointless riddle, dumbass		10/26/2009
